Terms of Service

Last updated June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Idiolect (the “Service”), operated from India (“Idiolect”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Idiolect helps you build a “Voice Profile” from your own writing and generate text — posts, threads, emails, and similar — in your voice. We also provide a voice‑fidelity metric (“Voice Match”) that estimates how much a piece of text reads like a given person’s writing.

The Voice Match score is a relative, statistical estimate, not a forensic or legal determination of authorship, and we make no claim that generated text is indistinguishable from, or attributable to, any person. AI‑generated output may contain errors or content you did not intend; you are responsible for reviewing everything before you use or publish it.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. Paid access (“Pro”) is granted via a license key issued on subscription. You are responsible for keeping your license key secure and for all activity under it.

3. Acceptable use

  • You may build a Voice Profile only from writing you authored, or that you are authorized to use.
  • Do not use the Service to impersonate, deceive, defraud, harass, or to evade authorship/AI detection for deceptive purposes.
  • Do not use the Service for unlawful content, or to infringe others’ rights.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse‑engineer, or abuse the Service or its rate limits.

4. Your content and intellectual property

You retain all rights to the writing you provide and to your Voice Profile. We do not claim ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely to operate and provide the Service to you (for example, to build your profile, score text, and generate drafts). Text you generate with the Service is yours to use.

5. Subscriptions, billing & cancellation

Pro is a recurring subscription billed in advance through our third‑party payment processor, which acts as merchant of record. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Third‑party services

The Service relies on third‑party providers (including AI model, hosting, database, email, and payment providers) to function. Your use is also subject to their terms where applicable. See our Privacy Policy for how data is shared with them.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, suitable, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error‑free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Idiolect will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
